If you have photographs on your phone that you don’t want just anybody to see for whatever reason, you may want to utilize a privacy option. While there are third-party applications that may help you hide your personal photographs, Google just revealed a new feature in Google Photos that allows you to lock your private images directly. 

Open the Google Images app and touch “Library” in the bottom right corner, then “Utilities” to access the new locked folder (which, according to the announcement, is for photos of IDs and passports… sure). Use your fingerprint ID to get to the “Locked Folder” section. 

You may now save new photographs directly to the protected folder (which only you can access with your fingerprint ID) or manually add older photos to it. Just keep in mind that the protected folder exists solely on your device and not on the cloud. This is for security reasons, since you don’t want your cloud, along with your personal photographs, to be hacked. Only your fingerprint has access to these sensitive pictures because they are kept locally. 

But, once again, what kind of photographs would someone wish to conceal? I don’t have the foggiest clue. But, just in case, it’s good to know this feature exists.
